On behalf of Indonesian ACCP Board Members, it is my pleasure to welcome all of you to the 17th Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, which will be held from July 28-30, 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is an honour for us to celebrate 20 years of ACCP in 2017 and it is such an auspicious event in Indonesia, where it will be the second time for ACCP held in Indonesia.

We hope we will make this a truly exciting journey of knowledge for all delegates. In view of the globalisation and its challenges, we have put together scientific programmes covering current and pressing topics related to clinical pharmacy practice.

With the conference theme “Unity in Diversity and the Standardisation of Clinical Pharmacy Services”, the 17th ACCP will begin with pre-conference workshops on July 27. Please take advantage of workshops to advance your practical skills and in-depth insights to specialised knowledge. Furthermore, there will be more opportunities for the exchange of scientific ideas via keynote, plenary sessions, symposia, oral and poster presentations during the conference.

We anticipate all delegates can learn, share, and network with pharmacists from all over the countries, thus opening up the opportunity for initiating staff or student exchange programs among the delegates. Furthermore, we invite all participants to join a Gala Dinner on July 29 at the Plataran Brahma, located next to Prambanan Temple and set against the majestic flood-lighted temple as the background. You can gather with others while watching the most wonderful Sendratari Ramayana performed by highly-skilled dancers on the open air stage. It is an unforgettable and unique experience. At the end of the conference, we offer delegates to join campus and hospital visit on July 31.

While enjoying the rich features of various scientific programs, we hope you will take some time to enjoy our beautiful Indonesia. Do explore the traditional cultures and various colours found in famous street food-culture, wonderful shopping opportunities and friendly people. I wish you a delightful stay and hope that you take home the very best of memories from this conference.

I look forward to welcoming you to Yogyakarta, a city of art and culture, in 2017.

Thank you.

Dr. Suharjono, M.S., Apt.
